Abstract

How do we know when and where marine animals reproduce? This can be difficult to find out, especially with animals that live in the open ocean and swim great distances.

It’s important for scientists to know when, where and how animals reproduce. This information can help to protect endangered and vulnerable animals by keeping important reproductive areas safe for them during their reproductive season.

This study aims to find out more about the reproductive behaviour of three species of devil ray in the southern Gulf of California.
